The Konggang Metro, a municipal-level development area approved by Chongqing Municipal Government in Mar., 2007, serves as the new center for northern Chongqing, and the urban-functional zone of Liangjiang New Area. The Konggang New City occupies 88 km² planned areas (Yuelai New Town included).
空港新城是2007年3月市政府批准的市级开发园区，是重庆主城北部新中心和两江新区都市功能区，园区规划控制面积88平方公里（含悦来新城）。
The New City focuses on developing commerce and trade, headquarters finance, convention and exhibition, high-end residence, leisure and recreation industries. New City aims to feature itself as an aviation city, a convention and exhibition city, a headquarter business city, a creative city and a livable city.
园区重点发展商贸服务、总部金融、会展经济、高端居住、休闲娱乐等产业，努力建成航空之城、会展之城、总部之城、创意之城、宜居之城。
